This past winter seemed to be an unusually challenging one. I can’t point to anything in particular that made this Minnesota winter different from any other. It wasn’t even as cold as recent winters. But it seemed that everyone in Minnesota was chomping at the bit to shrug off the parkas and get outside without mother-nature giving us a sucker punch.
Spring has finally arrived in the mid west: the tree leaves are unfolding, the lilac is just beginning to bloom and the grass already needs mowing.
So, too, begins the season of the promenade. If you happen to live near a lake or a nature trail, you’ll notice everyone, including the family dog, is taking in the air.
But we’re not out of the woods quite yet. Spring is that tumultuous time when one never knows whether to expect sunshine or rain. And by rain, I mean torrential down pours with high winds and multiple lightening strikes. It’s the beginning of severe storm season.
Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
It’s good to know that, whatever the weather, you can still hear BlueStratum live regardless of the forecast. We hope to play outdoors just as often as indoors and we’ll try to let you know ahead of time.
Whether your jaunt takes you around the lake or even to and from the library, stop in at the Nokomis Beach Coffee Café, get yourself a hot cup of java or iced beverage, a warm bowl of soup or a cool scoop of ice cream, sit and enjoy. Your tongue, tummy and ears will be glad you did.
